Home health Care Aide program

Overview

The DDC is proud to partner with Grassroots Training Business Solutions to offer the Home Health Aide Certification Program. This training has been meticulously crafted to equip students with essential skills and knowledge for a fulfilling career in the Home Health sector. This comprehensive program is tailored for those aspiring to make a significant impact in various healthcare settings, including nursing homes, hospitals, in-patient clinics, and private home care. 

Program Objective

Upon completion of the program, graduates will be proficient in:


  • Providing high-quality personal care and assistance to a diverse patient population,  including geriatric patients and individuals with chronic illnesses.
  • Understanding  and implementing basic medical and health care procedures.
  • Demonstrating effective communication skills, both with healthcare teams and patients.
  • Adapting to different care environments, from institutional settings to personal residences.

Key Learning Outcomes

  1.  Foundational Knowledge: Gain an understanding of the fundamental principles of home health care, including patient rights, privacy, and ethical      considerations.
  2. Clinical Skills: Develop hands-on skills in areas such as personal hygiene  assistance, basic nutritional management, and vital signs monitoring and CPR.
  3. Patient Care: Learn to provide compassionate care tailored to individual  patient needs, focusing on geriatric care and support for those with chronic conditions.
  4. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Enhance your ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Graduates of the Home Health Aide program will be well-prepared for entry-level positions in a variety of healthcare settings. The program lays a solid foundation for a rewarding career, offering both personal satisfaction and opportunities for professional growth in the healthcare industry.

Program Duration

8 weeks program with CPR training and Community Leadership Practices.
